MARCY'S TRAVEL BLOG- LONGING TO TAKE TO THE SKY--OR THE ROAD!!- A PANDEMIC DELEMA!

 

 If you have an itchy foot to travel, like me- this Pandemic has certainly clipped our wings!  I wonder if traveling will ever be the same as it was before!

I'm beginning to envy those with RV's and campers!!  That seems to be the safest way to travel now days!      

As I look at my bucket list I realize that places like England,  Australia,  India,  New Zealand,  Italy, and France will have to wait!  How long?   I'm hoping not too long!  

Also on my bucket list are all the wonderful places here in the U.S. !  I've always dreamed of a coast to coast road trip!  And then a Border North to Border South trip!  To see the United States as it truly is - yes, that's a dream!  NO expressways!  Only secondary roads that bring you through small towns and the Heartland of America!

Expressways are fine to get you from point A to point B!  But to see the "TRUE" America is to wander through the back roads, eat at Mom and Pop restaurants,  and see the little Towns and Hamlets along the way!

For now it's all just a dream.  I have no RV at the moment.  Camping does seem to be the safest and most economical way to travel now days, given the Pandemic .  The Airways will have to be on hold - International Travel put off for a year- or more.

Along with the travel restrictions, my "travel and play" budget is a bit thin!  (Another result of this Pandemic!)  So it's time to do a bit of Extra savings for future wanderings!

Also on my bucket list is a trip to a town I lived in for about 6 years of my life- Clarion, Iowa!  That place of my childhood holds enchanting memories for me!  I'd love to go there again, sit in the Center Square of the down town,  and wander through the Park I played in as a child.   Is it even still there, that Park?  The town was small, about 3,000 people when I lived there!  I remember it being lovely.  But those are childhood memories.  I wonder how I would find it today. 

As for now, my "itchy foot for travel" will have to wait.  My wanderings will need to be closer to home.  Perhaps  1 or 2 day trips somewhere? But I'm hanging on to my "Bucket List Dreams!!"  

Will they come to fruition, those dreams??  Heaven only knows!  But having a dream is the first step in making it happen!!

I am indeed content with what I have and where I am.  No Question!  That doesn't mean that I can't dream of an adventure or two-- or three-- or four--. Ha!  You get the idea!

For now, Dear Reader,  I'll count my Blessings to be where I am-  but will hold fast to my Dreams of Wandering, Exploring, and Experiencing!!
