MARCY'S TRAVEL BLOG- A LABOR DAY MICHIGAN NATURE ADVENTURE!

Here in Michigan I need not travel too far North to get in touch with Mother Nature's Beauty!  Lakes, fields, and woods are readily available for exploration!  Rather than choose a crowded beach or park, I went looking for something a bit more secluded.

In one short month these woods will be a mass of fall color before giving way to the coming Winter. But on this day it was a rich green haven of solitude!

Here and there the woods gave way to a splash of color!

Old or fallen trees were mingled with new growth!

At one point the woods gave way to a golden field and old farm structures!

Nestled in the woods was a quiet lake with geese enjoying the water.  I wonder how soon they will be heading South!  Perhaps in another month or two we'll see their V-shaped flight patterns in the sky!  But for now they seem to be content to gather and play.

I found this gazebo - it's wonderful location in the woods overlooking the lake.  What a perfect place for meditation!

I came across this old Oak tree!  It would be a perfect tree house tree!  Majestic and old, my photo does it no justice!

These beautiful plants amid the rocks was a lovely end to my meanderings!

I ended the day by joining my family for a fantastic feast!  My daughter-in-law had prepared steak tips with rice, vegetables, and a home made cheese cake to die for!!

Unfortunately my trek through the woods made me very hungry and I gobbled without taking pictures!  You'll have to take my word for it, it was a Wonderful meal with Wonderful company!

And so ended my Labor Day adventure!  Thank you Grandson Evan for being my driver and escorting me on my wanderings!

If you are a Nature Lover like me,  take to the road and meander through the back roads!  You may be surprised at the beauty you'll find there!

Until next time, Dear Readers!  Remember that Life is Indeed an Adventure, and Peaceful Beauty may be just around the corner!
