Meet the Lawsons, my Son's In-laws. They invited me to their lake house for a visit! We are each other's extended family! Not only do we share Grandchildren, but have become great friends as well! So, when
Willy and Bill extended the invitation, I was thrilled!
Their lake house is located in Harrisville, Michigan right on Lake Huron! The wonderful green chairs in the shape of Michigan you see here were a gift to Bill from his brothers! There is a side table in the shape of the Upper Peninsula! What a wonderful and unique gift!
A view from their deck! The gentle lapping of the waves was compelling!! I found my happy place!
I stood for a while with my feet in Lake Huron! The waves rushed past me, pulling the sand from under my feet as they receded. It felt wonderful! Calming! Nature's tranquilizer! I was surprised that the water was fairly tepid! I expected it to be freezing!!
As you can see, the beach is a rock lover's paradise! I definitely need to catch up on my Geology! I'd love to know how many different minerals are in this Great Lake! And many of those rocks are really pretty!
Just a few steps from their driveway is the entrance to the State Park! Willy takes their dog "Zoe" for a walk their every morning! I didn't walk through all of it, but did get to explore a bit.
The sign says "Shipwreck Alley"! I'm a lover of History! Next time I visit I'd love to go to the Thunder Bay National MarinaHeritage Center! Sounds fascinating!
The park had several families by the lake and I was without my mask, so chose to walk back by way of the beach to the lake house! As much as I have prepared for the "new normal" I still forget to bring the mask with me where ever I go. To the store, yes! But not always on a walk! I've yet to get fully in the "habit" with some things! Did I wash my hands every time I come home? Oops- did I wipe that down before putting it on the shelf? I'm still getting use to some things.
See the REALLY tall tree near the house! It's a beautiful old White Pine! Bill tells me it has been deemed the tallest in Harrisville County!
The late afternoon was spent on the deck in three intense games of Sequence with Willy! I will admit- I Won All Three!! I couldn't get too cocky! Fame is indeed fleeting! Willy and I are pretty equally matched. I knew my winning streak could go south really quick!
The mesmerizing lapping of the waves had a quiet calming effect. As Bill said, The Lake House is a place of relaxation!
The rain was coming. I spent a quiet evening in the company of my good friends! The morning was to bring some fun exploring! I went to sleep hoping to wake before dawn and get a glimpse of a Sun Rise over Lake huron!
Please join me in my next blog as I explore a beautiful old Harbor and even catch a bit of interesting History!
Until then, dear readers! Stay Well, Stay Safe!
Life Is An Adventure, Even When It's A Bumpy Ride!
