Marcy's Travel Blog- Boston! Day 1

I've been looking forward to this week for a long time, so even our early morning Michigan downpour didn't dampen my spirits. Our friend and neighbor, Jan Blow brought us to the airport. Thank you, Jan!
When we checked our luggage in, we were met with a warm smile and greeting by Delta agent Val Stepherson. Good start to the day! Our flight left on schedule. Will I ever tire of the thrill of take-off? Breaking free of the earth to view the world below, with farm land becoming a beautiful patch quilt design, and crowded dirty cities becoming neat rows of roof tops- the world becomes majestic, clean, and beautiful!
Our "Grey Van" driver was sure he was there when we walked out the door, delivering us 20 minutes later at the Omni Parker House Inn. From the moment we stepped out of the van to this, the hospitality and courtisy has been awesome! We were greeted by a young man who took our luggage, another in the lobby who greeted us warmly, and made sure we had our express check-in. D.J. brought our luggage up and made sure we were all set. Kate Casey (Loyalty Ambassador) made sure we had an upgrade to an Executive Suite. Lovely!

Kate Casey and Concierges David Sheehan and Susan Withrow were aware that this trip is, in part, Diana's belated birthday celebration.  We checked with the Concierge desk about reservations at the Parker House Restaurant. Mr. Sheehan called to confirm for us, and suggested we take table #40, famous for the historic fact that Jack Kennidy proposed to Jackie at that table. So, table #40  was ours.
We both ordered a small bowl of New England clam chowder and the scrod dinner. The staff of servers are wonderful! The food was wonderful! Oh-my! We hardly had room for the surprise birthday Boston Cream Pie they brought to Di! A special thank you to Kristen for wonderful service.
Back in our room we found champagne, two Boston cream pies, and a birthday card to Diana from  Loyalty Ambassador Kate Casey. About an hour later there was a knock on the door. Two Boston Cream Pies, a bottle of white wine, and a birthday card- sent up for Diana's Birthday by Concierges David Sheehan and Susan Withrow! Diana has been talking for two days how she was craving something sweet! (Oh-my! Be careful what you wish for!) So, now we are the proud owners of 4 Boston Cream Pies , a bottle of white wine, and a bottle of Champagne! Yum!
Join us tomorrow when we take the "Old Town Trolley tour", surely have a few adventures, and great food!
