Marcy's Travel Blog- A Michigan Summer!

I have long contended that Michigan has one of the prettiest summers I've seen anywhere! This post will be the first in a series of three, sharing with you my Michigan adventures.

I rarely leave Michigan in the summer. In truth, part of it is because I have family here! But what better place to share the summer experience with them than here!

This summer is best told in pictures, which tell their own story!

What better place to start a day than at "Cheryl's"- just about the best breakfasts in Brighton!

They have hearty portions, the food comes fast, you're treated warmly by the staff, and the food is yummy!

Angie makes sure your coffee cup stays filled! To the right is a wall hanging, showing the years they were awarded "Best Breakfast"!

While the morning temperatures were cool, playgrounds were busy!

It seems that there are parks everywhere! Not only at the schools and in towns, but in the subdivisions too!

Kensington Metro Park has a "Must Experience" water park- perfect for staying cool!

Two water slides are also in this water park! People of all ages come here to enjoy the "spray and play" experience!

Then, of course there are the lakes! Picnics, swimming, exploring, and sand castle building are all part of a days fun! Michigan has 62,798 natural and man made lakes- not including 4 Great Lakes at her borders!

Looking for shells and rocks can take up hours of time, and produces lots of fun little treasures!

A beach experience is not complete without sand castles, waterways, and forts!

Paddle boats for rent! What fun!

Now, if a beach isn't handy.......

Porch picnics are fun..

Sprinklers will do!

Or..........
Yep- a bucket will work!

Before it gets too hot, you can take a walk..

..Maybe do some yard work..

...Go for a ride..

Michigan has many horse ranches. This ride was a bit safer for a three year old, and cost a penny!

..Or you can decorate an angel food cake with cool whip and fresh strawberries!!

Let's not forget that wonderful past time of napping in the sun!

And when the dark clouds roll in...

And outdoors activities are out...

And you've had so much fun, you can't even make it up the stairs..

There's that wonderful, warm and snugly rest time!!

That looks so restful, makes me want to grab a blankly and do the same!

Next post I will be focusing on some of natures beauty, which seems in abundance here in the summer! Until then!

It is such fun to be included in your adventures- even though vicariously.
